ZS Vital is a research-driven health innovation company focused on translating biomedical research into practical solutions for women’s health.
Our journey began with a scientific challenge: how can research and natural bioactive compounds be developed into a safe, evidence-driven approach to support women living with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and fertility-related challenges?
That question led to years of research, formulation development and scientific evaluation, culminating in Vital-C, a nutraceutical formulation developed to support ovarian health, hormonal balance, menstrual cyclicity, ovulation and women’s fertility.
Vital-C was developed through research involving Associate Professor Dr. Sabreena Safuan, Dr. Zuraidah Abdullah and Wan Rosli Wan Ishak.

The development of Vital-C brings together research in biomedical sciences, physiology, pathology and natural product development, with a particular focus on the complex hormonal, metabolic and reproductive challenges associated with PCOS.
The formulation has undergone preclinical and clinical efficacy and safety evaluation as part of its research and development journey.

The Researchers
The Scientists Behind Vital-C
Vital-C is the result of multidisciplinary scientific expertise and a shared commitment to improving women’s health through research and innovation.
Associate Professor Dr. Sabreena Binti Safuan is an accomplished academic, researcher and innovator at the School of Health Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), where she has served since 2012. She holds an MSc in Molecular Toxico-Pathology from the University of Leicester and a PhD in Pathology from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, giving her a strong foundation in biomedical and translational health research.
Her key areas of expertise include Tumour Biology and Immunology, Histology, and the Development of Traditional and Herbal Medicine. With extensive experience in scientific research, publication and postgraduate supervision, Dr. Sabreena has contributed to advancing knowledge in medical and health sciences while nurturing the next generation of researchers.
Dr. Sabreena is also the Founder and Researcher of Vital-C, a nutraceutical formulation developed to support women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and women’s fertility. By combining scientific expertise with a strong focus on women’s health, she is committed to translating research into practical, evidence-driven solutions that can support better health and quality of life for women.
Dr. Zuraidah Binti Abdullah is an accomplished academic and researcher at the School of Health Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), where she has served since 2016. Her academic journey includes a BSc (Hons) in Biology from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), a Master’s in Medical and Molecular Biosciences (Neurosciences) from the University of Newcastle, Australia, and a PhD in Neurosciences from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.
Her research expertise focuses on Cell Physiology and Cerebral Vascular Disorders, with a strong interest in understanding the biological mechanisms that influence human health and disease. Through her academic research and postgraduate supervision, Dr. Zuraidah contributes to the advancement of biomedical and health sciences while supporting the development of future researchers.
Dr. Zuraidah is also the Founder and Researcher of Vital-C, a nutraceutical formulation developed to support women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and fertility-related needs. Combining her scientific background with a passion for women’s health, she is committed to translating research and biomedical knowledge into innovative, practical solutions that support better health and well-being.

Innovation Connect 2025 — 1st Place
ZS Vital Sdn Bhd was named the Top Winner of the Innovation Connect 2025 Investment Pitch Finale organised by MRANTI.
The programme brought together promising IP-driven ventures from leading Malaysian universities and institutions, with ventures evaluated by a panel of investment and innovation ecosystem leaders.
ZS Vital, representing an innovation originating from USM, was recognised for its nutraceutical solution addressing PCOS and infertility through support for hormonal balance and reproductive health.
